Lawyers Gone Bad is the story of beleaguered attorney disciplinary counsel, Dean Alessi, and his trusty investigator, Stu Foley, in their fight against lawyers gone bad – that is, lawyers who commit ethical and criminal wrongs. In this case they’re investigating the local District Attorney, who may have committed the ultimate ethical wrong – murder.
Novelist Vincent Scarsella draws on his over 18 years of real life experience as head of the Eighth Judicial District Grievance Committee in Buffalo, New York to craft a gripping, suspenseful novel about lawyers gone bad.
But the story is more than a crime novel. It concerns friendship, loss, unrequited love, and ultimately, justice. It seeks to answer the question, does what goes around, come around? “Lawyers Gone Bad,” follows on the success of Vincent Scarsella’s debut crime novel, “The Anonymous Man”, about which The Buffalo News said: “’The Anonymous Man’ gets decent marks for creativity and intricacy…it’s a fast read that runs through familiar local settings to a satisfying conclusion. Scarsella has the makings of a good storyteller…he and [Jack] Fox could go places.”
Two Englishmen have dreams of settling in the sun, but trouble follows them.
Their first brush with death came at Bangkok’s airport on Nick’s first day in the Kingdom.
Action laughs, romance and tears follow as the story moves at a breathtaking pace.
Violence and tender moments collide as the gullible pair meet a dodgy ship’s engineer, two lovely French girls more interested in dogs than romance, and a tall Welsh man, with a very chequered drug background who leads them all into more trouble. The last person they need to encounter is a lesbian newspaper reporter with a deadly family secret.
The tale unfolds into an action-packed finale.

Clarence Bankston returns from the Vietnam War shaken by his experience. After seeing Ann Minh, a Vietnamese, at a party, he is repulsed because she is a reminder of a war he doesn’t want to relive. Once she initiates a conversation, though, they bond, recognizing both have been affected by the conflict. The peace of mind each seeks, however, eludes them as their pasts unfold.
In the story, Lucky, a veteran, Raphael “Lucky” Holland, finds his niche as a stick-up artist. His luck runs out when he tries to rob a stranger whose past is darker than Holland’s. A Good Day To Be A Man shows that physical confrontation is not necessarily the path to manhood. In Slow Songs, Lieutenant Raymond Williams faces his worst fear in Vietnam, and it has nothing to do with his personal welfare.
Being a single parent is hard but raising teenagers should have its own category at the Oscars! My 16-year-old son is either texting or listening to music on his phone and says probably 5 words in between. The twins (Thing 1 and Thing 2) 13 years old (boy & girl) NO! It’s not cute or sweet anymore. I’m between getting grey hair and trying not to go to jail for causing bodily harm to one of them, before they do it to one another. While all of that is going on the unexpected decides to show up; BREAST CANCER – SERIOUSLY! Could you not have waited until the summer time or until the kids had graduated and were off to college. Nope she shows up in the middle of the school year, the middle of puberty and of course right when things are going great for my career.
Here are how things went while I battled breast cancer and continued to be a single mother; at the same time. It wasn’t pretty nor was it easy but I hope you can see how strong you can be when you least expect it.
