Roland Tankowicz wasn’t even legally a person anymore.

Now, he spent most of his time drinking beer and working as a fixer for the crime families in 25th-century Boston. It was easy money if you were the kind of guy who was bullet-proof and could pick up a house.
But then Lucia Ribiero stumbled into his favorite watering hole dragging a squad of bounty hunters behind her. Shadows from his own dark past, and old debts still unpaid conspired to drive the old war-horse out for one more mission. Like any good soldier, the mission is all that matters for Roland.
Linked by a shared connection to her kidnapped father, the duo will face veritable armies of criminals, mutants, cyborgs, and corporate executives as they search for the missing man. The secrets of the Ribiero family are exposed as they approach the center of the labyrinth, and Lucia’s mental and physical issues present an even deeper mystery than her father’s disappearance.
Roland will have to face the horror of his past one more time, and Lucia will need to get a grip on her future if they expect to survive a running battle with an entire galaxy’s worth of mad science gone awry; and ultimately prevent a terrible history from repeating itself.

The main character is Auntie Bertie who is an old lady with Victorian values and principles.
Now, if you are not familiar with Victorian values, they come from the time of Queen Victoria of England.
She was very stiff and proper! It was a time when children were believe to be seen and not heard. They weren’t allowed to speak unless spoken to and, just like home life, school was a very serious affair.
The illustrations are bright and do a great job of bring the story to life.
Your children will love to read along with Auntie Bertie’s adventure.
This fun and engaging book will make a welcome addition to your library. Fun audiobook also!

An inspirational, highly emotional and entertaining read for all ages
This book is a lovely adventure with an amazing heroine. Matica is a strong, brave girl, who battles with her handicap and how others view her. But this isn’t a story only about her gaining acceptance or over coming her challenges. Rather, it’s a tale packed full of exciting moments and tons of emotions. Matica comes across naturally as does the village and the world around her. It’s beautifully set and an easy landscape to dive into.
The way the author revealed each situation is fun to read and it made one anxious to see what’s next. Acceptance was eloquently woven into the story without being blatant. And the other thing I learned was that when certain things happen, you don’t always know why and just maybe something goodwill come of it.
